Use 22 kHz/Stereo. This is the best solution for all Macs. If you don't have external speakers, you can set "Mono". Then Galaxus runns faster. If you have problems with the speed of your computer (68040 and old 601) use 11kHz/Mono.
Music Options:
1. Mod-Music
Mod Music is a Sound-Format known originally from Amiga and Atari Computers. It has been ported to the most compuer-platforms.
2. Audio CD
You can also use your favorite Audio CD if you have a (Apple) CD-ROM-drive. Insert your Audio CD in the Mac and choose "Audio CD".
More informations about Audio CDs are in chapter "Audio CD".
3. Intelligent Music System (IMS)
This is the standard configuration. If your Mac found a Audio CD, Galaxus will play audio tracks of this CD. If there is no Audio CD, Galaxus uses MOD-Music.
If you remove a CD - Galaxus will play a MOD File. (after start of next Mission or after end of current mission). If you insert a Audio CD- Galaxus will play from this CD.
More informations about Audio CDs are in chapter "Audio CD".
4. No Music
If you don't like Music, you can turn it off.
Sound options:
You can turn sound on and off.
Some testers didn't like the shooting sound (specially during autofire), so I put some more options. You can individually turn a specific group of sound on/off.
